QTECH today announced that its latest release of QBeans V3 has been used to
accelerate the solution delivery of a significant custom software for the
Treasury Board of Canada, Secretariat (TBS).
The Internal Audit Sector of the Office of the Comptroller General, TBS is responsible for the audit review of the governments $160B spending program. In response to the Auditor General's recommendation, the TBS
needed to develop and establish a tracking system to support its audit review activities. In particular, the system would enable the staff of OAG Interface to ensure that it receives all departmental internal audit reports to be analyzed for emerging weaknesses, and to share the analysis with the internal audit community.
Using QBeans V3 rev 4.0 to shift his focus from the coding and testing effort to understanding the business requirement, the TBS consultant was able to complete the assignment within 30 days.
Following is the entire scope of what was actually accomplished using QBeans within the 30 day consulting assignment:
PROJECT SCOPE
The TBS consultant:
- Prepared a detailed plan to develop and establish the tracking system, and the system requirements for the tracking system.
- Incorporated change management requirements to the plan.
- Determined information that should be collected in the tracking system database.
- Managed the development of a tracking system and all associated activities.
- Monitored and assessed activities and momentum of the project for the development of a tracking system.
- Established resource requirement (qualification & classification) to operate the tracking system. and
- Reported requirements (on a weekly basis) on the work advancement to sectors such as the Executive Group, the Office of the Comptroller General and the Chief Audit Executive
- Developed and implemented the tracking system to meet objectives and deliverables.
- Identified, charted and analysed different components linked to the strategy, for example components of the tracking system.
- Recommended strategies for alignment of all of the components of the implementation.
- Identified, developed and recommended measures to align processes with the development of a tracking system.
- Interacted with stakeholders and with senior management in the presentation of results.

- Development and establishment of a tracking system.

- Progress reports against the development and the establishment of a tracking system.
- Plans, charts, tables and diagrams to support objectives.
- Presentation decks as required.
- Summaries of results of workshops &/or facilitation sessions.
- Presentation of Results in the form of reports to Senior Managers.
- Written operating procedures will be required to ensure that the users know how to input data and how to prepare analysis report. A short training is also required for the main users (staff of 6 or 7)
